One of the things that drains satisfaction out of a job is dealing with an angry boss. In responding to your angry boss via email, you need to be able to respond to your boss politely and address his concerns while still getting to keep your job. Luckily for you, there are some templates that can help you.

Sample 1: Respond to an Angry Boss

The sample below shows a situation where you directed your boss’s anger toward the situation.

Suggested Subject: Sincere Apologies

Dear Sir,

I hereby tender my unreserved apologies regarding the events of the other day regarding the poor organization of the team.

Your anger over how the team was not organized is well-noted, sir. It was pretty discouraging how the whole process of planning turned out. This is a result none of us expected.

The points you raised were taken with all seriousness. It will put us on the right path when organizing the final events next season.

Again, my sincere apologies.

Sample 2: Email to Respond to an Angry Boss

In this second sample, you have avoided defending yourself and painted a picture of unforeseen circumstances. You have briefly explained what happened and justified your boss’s anger by stating that everything went wrong.

Suggested Subject: Sincere Apologies

Dear Sir,

This is to say how deeply sorry I am for the inconveniences the company may have suffered as regards the final delivery.

Everything unexpected went wrong with our delivery that day, sir. Even though we felt we were prepared to face the situation, we encountered some unforeseen circumstances that we did not qualify for, especially in human resources and equipment.

This email is a response to an angry email from the boss. It acknowledges the mistake made and apologizes for it. The email also offers to schedule a meeting to discuss the report in more detail and address any concerns the boss may have.
